Welcome to the Illinois Psychedelic Society!

We are delighted to hold space for you in our community.

Hi everyone, my name is Jean Lacy. I'm a native Illinoisan and I first started advocating for drug policy and plant medicine here in 2015 with the passing of the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act. I spent the following 5 years travelling all across Illinois helping people get certified for the program and educating about the risks and benefits of cannabis, all the while on my own personal journey with psychedelics. This work led me to many trainings at the intersection of plant medicine and western healthcare where I stand to bridge the gap between the grassroots people engaging in these ancient practices and the clinical professionals eyeing them as state of the art treatment tools. In this effort, I founded the Illinois Psychedelic Society. We are a non-profit organization and our community has been gathering online since 2020 around all things psychedelics. We have members from all walks of life and all parts of our great state as well as many places all around the world. When I began to bring people together it was my intention to build space for education and advocacy as well as bring like minded people to discuss my favorite topic. The community quickly revealed the need for peer support and connection.

We gather virtually once a month to get updates on legislation, share news, and tell stories of personal experience. You can check out our Events Page to register for our next group. It is my wish that as we continue to move forward that we will be able to increase our offerings and reach more people with valuable information on the safe and ethical use of psychedelics. Please reach out if you'd like to volunteer with us.

Thank you for being a part of this community. I hope you find value in our offerings and tell a friend about us. Subscribe to our newsletter to keep up to date with happenings around psychedelics in Illinois.
